Shopping centre intu Bromley which has just been put on the market for 260 million has been confirmed as a headline sponsor for the Bromley Business Awards 2016.

The mayor of Bromley, Councillor Kim Botting, launched the awards on 9 March at intu. Established in 2011, winners will be announced in 12 categories, including Best SME Business, Entrepreneur of the Year and Employer of the Year.

Businesses from around the borough were invited to put themselves forward for the intu Bromley-sponsored annual ceremony, which will take place on 3 November.

The shopping centre hosts more than 130 businesses and saw £7 billion of retail expenditure last year.

General manager of intu Bromley, Kate Miller, said: "We have witnessed first hand how Bromley has transformed into a bustling business destination in recent years – and we’ve been glad to help drive and support that transformation.

"At least 18 million customers walked through our doors last year, highlighting the centre as a major retail destination, which has helped attract big name brands to Bromley including recent intu offerings Fat Face, Jo Malone, Timberland, Jack Wills and Carluccio’s."

Bromley Business Awards director Isabella Harding, expressed satisfaction with intu Bromley's confirmed sponsorship.

“With such a prominent business headlining the awards for 2016, we recognise this will encourage more businesses in the borough to enter.

“The wealth of businesses based in Bromley is second to none; from the big corporates to the small, independent businesses which make the borough unique.”

The nomination process is free and can be filled out online, with companies having two months to complete their entries. For more information and to enter, visit
