Bromley is among the most popular places for first-time buyers in London, according to a report by information provider, Experian.
The south-east London boroughs of Bromley, Bexley and Greenwich account for a third of all the capital’s first-time buys, the report said.
Bromley's housing mix includes a range of large and small Victorian and Edwardian houses in areas such as Sundridge Park and Bromley Old Town. In Bromley South mixed-use schemes provide commuters with modern living quarters within walking distance of Bromley South train staiton.
The report also revealed that many first-time buyers are looking to the Crystal Palace area of Bromley, where the extension of the East London line in 2012 has brought direct links to the Docklands. Central London areas such as Victoria and London Bridge are also accessible by train within half an hour.
New developments such as the £90 million St Mark's Square scheme by Cathedral – a residential and leisure quarter with a cinema, hotel and restaurants – are also boosting the borough's housing options.
