Consultation closed on tube extension

Tue 27 January 2015, 10:29 am

Transport for London (TfL) has concluded consultation on the proposed extension of the Bakerloo Line, which could see the London Underground extended to Hayes in Bromley.

There are three options for the line, two of which would see tube trains terminating at Hayes.

The cost of the extension is in the region of £2 to £3 billion with the potential for building work to start in the mid 2020s and a completion date of early 2030s.

TfL’s statement said: “The case for the proposed extension will be reviewed, including the different route options and possible station locations. Further environmental, planning and engineering studies will also be carried out and funding options will be examined.

“This information, including the consultation analysis, will be presented to the mayor of London and made publicly available from spring 2015.”
