Work is progressing on the St Mark’s Square development in Bromley, according to the developer, Cathedral Group.
Traffic has been diverted on Simpson’s Road, allowing work to begin at the basement level at the site. The 3,584sq ft scheme will comprise 200 homes, a 130-bed Premier Inn hotel, a Vue cinema and eight new restaurants.
Four chain food outlets have already confirmed – they include Las Iguanas, Nando’s, Prezzo and Turtle Bay.
Once complete, the developers say the scheme will create 220 jobs and inject £220m into the local economy over the nest decade.
Completion is scheduled for autumn 2015.
