The owner of Nugent Shopping Park is sponsoring the creation of a new children's play area in Riverside Gardens, St Mary Cray.
British Land has given £10,000 towards the creation of a new sand-and-water play area in the park’s former paddling pool.
It includes water pumps, water channels, and interactive sluice gates, as well as a climbing frame within a sandpit.
Cray Valley East councillor Peter Fortune said British Land’s donation - which accounts for around one-fifth of the project’s total cost - was a “vote of confidence” in the work of the Cray Valley Initiative Panel (CVIP), which he chairs.
“I am so pleased that both the council and the CVIP have had such input into this project,” he said.
“Many residents are already on board with this and we are increasingly engaging with businesses.”
