Work to revitalise part of Bromley town centre with extensive improvements to streets and public-spaces is set to start this summer.

Bromley North: public realm improvements

The £5 million Bromley North Village scheme, which is expected to provide a significant economic boost to the area, will see the introducion of new high-quality granite pavements, lights, more trees, and improved street furniture in the Market Square, High Street North and East Street areas.

It will also include better pedestrian access to the Hill car park.

Bromley Council regeneration lead councillor Peter Morgan said the work would make the town centre an even more attractive place.

“This year is already proving to be critical with a number of exciting projects under way that will ultimately drive forward our long-term vision to build a better Bromley," he said. “We are committed to encouraging investment into the area and will be working closely with traders throughout the duration of the project.”

Bromley said the works were expected to be complete by December 2014.
