Priory School's £1.85 million sports facility in Orpington has been successfully completed, project managers Pellings LLP has announced.
The Bromley-based practice said the facility, which incorporates four full-sized football pitches and other facilities for pupils and the wider community, was already being used.
Constructed by specialist contractors AP Thompson Sports Engineering, the facility has two floodlit all-weather pitches with an innovative 3G artificial surface that has passed FIFA “bounce and roll” tests, and also two grass pitches.
Pellings said the centre, which is built entirely on Priory School land, also contained a “striking” main building that featured six team changing rooms, a large community room with a balcony, and a range of consultation rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows.
The complex was funded from a variety of sources, including the school, Bromley Council, Bromley Mytime, and the Football Foundation.
