Council to buy High Street properties

Thu 27 December 2012, 9:43 am

Bromley Council's ruling executive has agreed to buy three commercial properties in the town centre with cash from a £10 million pump-priming fund.

At a meeting last week, members of the authority’s top-level committee approved the purchase of the units using the council’s Regeneration/Investment Fund.

Members of the public were excluded from the December 21 meeting, but minutes of the breakfast session reveal that the purchase of  “98, 101 and 107-109 High Street” was agreed “to enable better returns to be gained on the council assets for the future benefit of the council and its ratepayers“.
