Public tests new paving for Bromley North Village
Tue 20 December 2011, 5:46 pm
The public has been testing three samples of paving materials which could be used in improvements to Bromley North Village.
The samples were laid in Market Square, and the selected stones will be used in the £5 million scheme, funded in partnership with Transport for London (TfL), aimed at regenerating the historic area of Bromley North.
The paving is made from a mixture of granite and recycled glass pavers and will show the proposed layouts on a small scale.
The laying of test panels follows two consultation events held for residents, business and other stakeholders, in which there were opportunities to view plans and speak to key personnel involved with the project.
Plans for Bromley North Village were outlined in the Bromley Town Centre Area Action Plan (AAP), which was officially adopted by the Council in October 2010.
The scheme encompasses Market Square, High Street North and East Street areas of Bromley town centre.
