Neill: Bromely to benefit from new law

Fri 25 November 2011, 10:25 am

Bromley will benefit from new laws passing more powers to local authorities, according to Bromley and Chislehurst MP Bob Neill, a minister in the department which drew up the legislation.

Neil, local government minister in the Department for Communities and Local Government said that the Localism Act would give residents “real powers to shape our area”.

The new laws will allow residents to tell councils what developments to bring forward under the Right to Build, and will give councils greater control on planning, business rates and social housing.
