Top-level delegates to next month's Invest Bromley conference - from Hammerson, Taylor Wimpey and others - have been explaining what they hope to achieve by attending.

Neil Crawford, development manager at developer Hammerson said: "I want to get a general overview of what the long term aspirations of Bromley are, and how the borough might change.

"We are particularly interested in the retail requirements – we think this is an area of London that has a lot of potential and we want to be involved."

Over 90 top industry professionals have signed up for the event, which takes place on 20 September at Bishop's Palace, Bromley.

Planners, developers and sector specialists from national and international firms will hear experts describe the demographics, geography, economics and opportunities for investment in the area.

Simon Brown, regional managing director at Taylor Wimpey East London, said: "Bromley is quickly becoming an exciting area full of development potential.

"Not only should the conference should give us an in-depth perspective of the housing investment opportunities available but provide a forum for discussion and networking."

Sarah Stevens, director at planning consultant Turley Associates, added: "We have a number of clients with interests in Bromley and nearby towns.

"We are looking forward to the conference giving us an in-depth understanding of what is going on in the area, which clearly has a lot of potential and activity."
